Bio

I am an award winning singing and music for well being and health practitioner and have a trauma informed diploma, a Level 2 certificate in counselling and 25 years experience of working as a nurturing music educator, community musician and choir leader. I work in schools and with children who have special needs. I am also a singing for health and pain management practitioner and run music for well being sessions for adults in the UK as part of social prescribing for the NHS. It is an absolute privilege to teach in this way. I compose for and sing with my small acapella group-Wild The Flower. I love all genres but folk is my thing.

I have a degree BA Hons in music and visual performance. I enjoy composing songs inspired by the natural world. I am presently undertaking an environmental arts course-The Circle of Trees which offers a therapeutic approach that explores personal growth through art/music and nature connections. I am also a forest bathing guide and work with adults and children in the forests, making music and connecting to trees.

What to expect

I offer a holistic, somatic and spiritual approach to music making and include mindfulness and meditation as part of our session depending on your needs. I have a repertoire of sweet songs to share to support you in your connection to your voice and well being. My aim is to support your creative practice through a therapeutic program of invitations that connect with the natural world for personal development and inspiration. You will be guided to find your own personal journey through monthly or weekly themes in a nature area of your choice as we weave magic into creativity and get into flow. We will learn about the trees and explore how nature can guide and support us in our process. As we cycle through the year you will be supported in your creativity, singing for health, composition and music practice to find self understanding and joy. You lead your learning and artistic practice with myself as mentor. Bring your instrument/voice, a pen and journal.
Your first session is a free introduction.

Experience

I work with adults and young people, in schools and at well being hubs and surgeries. I run music for memories singing sessions for people with dementia.
