1- What is Music 4 Humans?

2- Can you tell me more about online lessons?

Online lessons are a very effective and popular learning option. All lessons are connected through video conferencing using Zoom. During your meeting, you have the ability to ask questions directly to your teacher, get live feedback, and have inspiring interaction. Online lessons are also very convenient, you can take your lesson from anywhere you want and you can also work with instructors from across the world!

3- Can I book just one lesson?

Yes, for trial purposes you can book one lesson with as many teachers as you want. Our teachers may have busy schedules and Music 4 Humans will make sure that once you find your perfect match, you can keep your preferred time during the week by subscribing for weekly lessons.

4- What is Music 4 Humans satisfaction guarantee?

If you do not feel entirely fulfilled and inspired by your learning experience, Music 4 Humans will help you find a new teacher or you can receive a refund for any future unused lessons already purchased. Simply contact us or use the Cancel/Reschedule function in the Booked Lesson section of your Dashboard at least 24 hours before your next lesson to cancel your lessons and receive a refund.

5- Do you offer group or one on one lessons?

Music 4 humans currently offers live one on one online music lessons. When you book a lesson with one of our available teachers, you’ll be the only person attending the lesson. Meaning that you will get a personalized experience tailored for you, your level and your goals. You will also get close follow up from your teacher creating the best possible learning experience.

6- Is there a trial period?

Music 4 Humans hold in high regard and value our instructor’s time, work, and experience. We offer a free music lesson consultation to help you find the best teacher for your needs. If you are not satisfied with your lesson, please report it to us and we will make sure to find another teacher that fits your needs.

7- How do I synchronize my time zone with my teachers’?

Music 4 Humans convert all the schedules you will see on the platform into your local time. This is why it is important to provide your accurate time zone when you register as a Music 4 Humans user. The times that you see in a teacher’s schedule are their availability in your time zone. You can always adjust your time zone from your Dashboard when needed.

8- How is payment handled with Music 4 Humans?

All payments are handled directly through Stripe. Stripe have their own sets of policy and Terms that you can see HERE. Payment for lessons occurs at the time of booking. Subscriptions are paid on a monthly basis and charged on the first business day of each month. In all cases, payments are made to the teachers the following Friday after the lesson has occurred.

9- How does subscription works with Music 4 Humans?

When you first subscribe, you’ll pay for the first month of lessons. The day and time of your choice will then be automatically blocked from your teacher’s schedule indefinitely or until you or the teacher put an end to your subscription. On the first business day of the month, you’ll be charged for any lessons that are set up for the following month. You will receive an email notification a week prior to this charge occurring with a detailed invoice of the upcoming month’s lessons and amount due. Payment to the teachers is made on the Friday following the completed lesson.

10- How much does it cost to take lessons?

Music 4 Humans hold in high regard all music-related work and promote the high value of our teacher’s unique and hard-earned knowledge. Lesson fees are set by teachers, regulated by Music for Humans (meaning teachers cannot undersell their services), and range from $25 per 30 minutes lesson on up. Teachers’ fees are displayed on their profile pages.

11- How long is each lesson?

Music 4 Humans offer 30, 45, 60, and 90 minutes lessons depending on your needs. You can see the durations offered under the ” Duration” menu on the teachers’ profile page. You can also choose one of the available time slots offered by the teacher.

12- What is the cancellation policy?

Lessons must be canceled or rescheduled directly on the platform using the cancel/reschedule function on the Booked Lesson section of your Dashboard at least 24 hours before the lesson time. If you need to cancel a lesson, do so by using the cancel lesson function and your teacher will be notified automatically.

Students

1- How do I attend my lesson?

You will receive a confirmation email and a notification on your Dashboard as soon as your teacher approves your lesson request. The email and notification will contain a zoom link to the lesson meeting. You can then use that link to join the lesson. For subscribed students with weekly lessons, you can use the same link every week.

2- Can I test out my Zoom settings ahead of time?

Yes, you can and you should! We recommend testing your video conference at least 15 min before each lesson to avoid any unwanted technical issues during the lesson.

3- What is the refund policy with Music 4 Humans?

Everyone’s learning experience is unique and we understand that taking lessons can be challenging. If you need to stop taking lessons for any reason, we will refund any unused paid lessons or remaining subscription time on your calendar.

4- How should I pay my teacher?

Never pay outside of Music 4 Humans. Always book and pay for your lessons or services directly through Music 4 Humans. That way you’ll be protected by our Terms and Privacy policies. If anyone on the Music 4 Humans platform asks you to pay off-site or through a 3rd party company, report it to us immediately. Simply reach out to the contact section, email us at info@music4humans.com.

5- What do I need to prepare for my online lesson on Zoom?

You will need a computer or tablet with a webcam and microphone that is connected to a reliable Internet connection with a download speed preferably above 25 Mbps. Your instrument, and/or any equipment recommended by your teacher prior to the lesson. Plan ahead and make sure to test your camera, microphone, and internet connection at least 15 min before your lesson to avoid any technical issues during your lesson.

6- Do you have any tips for finding the best teachers?

Use the browsing menu or Go to Explore your possibilities and use the search filters to find the teachers best matched to your instrument, skill level, learning goals, and availability. If you are interested in a particular teacher but would like to learn more about his/her approach prior to booking a lesson, feel free to contact us.

7- What is the best way to communicate with my teacher?

Always communicate directly through the Music 4 Humans messaging center. To be able to communicate with your preferred teacher you will be asked to register an account and secure a payment method before being able to reach out to them. If you have any questions before doing so please contact us and it will be our pleasure to answer any questions you may have. Once you’ve booked a lesson, you’ll be able to communicate with your teacher at any time directly through the platform. Never share any unnecessary personal information directly with anyone.

8- How do I reschedule a lesson?

Log into your account and first go to the Booked Lesson section of your Dashboard. On your scheduled lessons, there will be a button that says “Reschedule.” If you click on it, you will see the available options of the teacher’s calendar where you can choose a time to reschedule. If you need to reschedule a lesson, please do so at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time so that your teacher will not be inconvenienced. It is also recommended that you send a short message to your teacher explaining the circumstances behind the rescheduling.

Teachers

1- How do I start teaching?

The process of becoming a Music 4 Humans instructor is pretty easy. All you need to do is fill out your profile details and experience, and agree to our independent contractor terms. Our team will then look over your profile and reach out to you in the week following your application.

3- How Do I Get Paid?

First, you will need to create a Stripe account. From there, choose your preferred payout method.  The payout occurs on the 1st and 15th of each month. Music 4 Humans will release your payment for the lessons you taught before those dates. The date you’ll get the funds will depend on your financial institution and whether the payout sends on a bank holiday.

4- What are the Requirements to become a Teacher?

Teachers are required to either have 2 years or more of teaching experience or have 5 years of professional experience in the field they want to teach. These may vary from case to case, we are always looking for exceptions.

5- How will Music 4 Humans help me find students?

Music 4 Humans increases the exposure of your unique talents and teaching abilities through extensive online and offline marketing. The platform also gives you an opportunity to create an artistic, professional-looking online presence for you to showcase your talent easily and free of charge. Music 4 Humans also empower you with the option of managing your teaching studio all in one place.

6- What are the technical requirements for online teaching?

You will need a computer or tablet with a webcam resolution of 720p or better, a microphone, and a reliable Internet connection with a download speed of at least 25 Mbps. Most of your teaching material should be easily accessible on your device, ready to share with your students.

7- Are there any fees associated with the use of the platform?

Music 4 Humans is free to enroll.  A 10% platform fee of your chosen pay rate is applicable for any students that find you and book a lesson with you through Music 4 Humans.

8- What If I need to cancel a Lesson?

To cancel an upcoming lesson, locate it in your calendar, and select Cancel Lesson. Your student will receive a notification and a full refund. Cancellations can be very disruptive to students’ plans. Because of this, penalties may apply if you cancel a lesson less than 24h before. We’ll notify you if a fee will be charged before you complete a cancellation. Frequent cancellations, or no-shows, are a violation of our Terms and Conditions and may result in the removal of your teacher profile from Music 4 Humans.

9- Can I assign a Sub teacher to my students?

Teachers may not hand their students off to 3rd party teachers at any time. Teachers must personally give their lessons throughout the entirety of the agreed lesson time. If a teacher is not available under any circumstances, they should refer to the Reschedule/Cancelation policy.

10- Am I guaranteed to get new students?

Music 4 Humans guarantee that we will do everything in our power to make your talent available for the world to discover, and you won’t be charged anything unless students, that find out about you on the platform, book a lesson with you. We do not guarantee any outcome of the services we offer.
