Hafa Adai, I hail from the beautiful island of Guam! Now living in Seattle, Washington. I received my Associate Degree in Music with a focus on Guitar Performance from Musicians Institute Hollywood, California in 2007.

I have had my music placed on multiple tv shows and a movie (the Real World, Road Rules, The Tested etc) and got to play on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with my former band Xolie Morra and the Strange Kind. I’ve been lucky enough to cross paths and share the stage with many musical giants, including Crosby, Stills, and Nash, John Mayer, Don Felder, Brandi Carlile, Russell Ferrante, Travis Carlton, and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. I love playing music, but meeting good people through music and arts is also just the best thing ever and I hope to keep that going 🙂

I’ve been a working musician for the past 20+ years, teaching guitar, bass, and ukulele full time for the past 6 years, and have grown very passionate about sharing and teaching all the joys of music! I hope to be able to spread that joy and positivity to my students and the global music community!

Thank you for visiting my profile! Here’s a little bit about me.
I am a drummer, music educator, and producer from San Diego, California. My first encounter with music happened when I  was a kid. My family and I moved into a house with a piano, and I taught myself how to play.

In High School, I joined the concert band percussion section, which was the beginning of my passion for drums. Even though I had a later start than the rest of my classmates, that did not stop me from chasing my dreams. Practicing non-stop to catch up to the level of the section and taking private drum lessons really helped out.

By the time I was 18 years old, I had gone to community college originally as a business major but found myself uninterested and decided to study music technology.  That same year I joined my first female rock band and performed many gigs. Over time, those experiences helped me develop an ear for creating beats and producing music.

Even though I specialize in playing and teaching drums, I have an associate’s degree in music technology and a Bachelor’s in Music Production from Berklee College of Music.

I am currently in The Pumps, a pop-rock band with all female members. In addition, I do freelance session drum work and perform gigs for bands needing a drummer. Over the past few years, I have built a big audience on her social media and have made numerous connections.

I am a classically trained pop/R&B and Latin vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist with a double bachelor’s degree in music education and vocal performance from Berklee College of Music. I am also a published children’s author.

My goal is to make a difference by doing what I love and showing the world that blind people are as capable as everyone else. I hope to inspire future generations to pursue their dreams and be successful like I have because I know that anything is possible and that giving up is never an option. As an artivist and music educator, I will be able to make a difference by using my reach as a Puerto Rican Spanish speaker to crush stereotypes by sharing my experiences across cultures and doing what has not been done while advocating for all of the communities I represent.

I aim to be the first blind Latina artist at the forefront of the Latin music industry. I am confident that I can lead, I can achieve, and I can be the one who alters the way people see.
