Thanks for visiting my profile! Here’s a little about myself.

My mother was a high school music teacher. Thanks to her, I was introduced to music at a very young age. But despite all of her efforts and encouragement, I wasn’t very interested in music initially. Instead, like any young man from a small, rural town in Eastern Canada, I had big dreams of playing professional sports. I was around 10 years old when I finally decided to give music a try and started to play drums and classical percussion. A couple of years later, my favorite uncle gave me a mixtape of songs from some of his favorite recording artists like Miles Davis, Weather Report and UZEB. Some of you Gen Z’s out there may not recognize all of these names, but neither did my friends at the time. But the point is, I took one listen to that mixtape and I was hooked. I suddenly realized how exciting music could be. These guys were killing it. They were playing fast, loud and I had never heard anything like it in my young life. What I also realized was that if you just close your eyes and listen carefully, you can be totally transported by music, transported to imaginary worlds. Simply listening to the music gave me a real interest in it, and that’s when I started dreaming of a potential career.

I think I was around 13 years old when I did my first recording session. I was playing bass and drums on a local commercial jingle. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to perform, record and collaborate with some of the most acclaimed artists of the French Canadian and European music scene. I’ve even played with some of my heroes. Remember I mentioned UZEB earlier? I actually got to play with these guys and other Jazz giants from Montreal and Europe! That’s the power of music!

Following my years of being a professional musician in Montreal, I was offered the job of Musical Director for a big circus production called Cavalia Odysseo. For 7 years (1700+ shows) I enjoyed traveling North America with incredible artists from around the world, sharing the music of the show with millions of spectators in major cities across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. And most importantly, I got to play music every day with incredible musicians who became like brothers and sisters to me. One of the most unique aspects of music is that it brings together a global community. Learning music, for me, has been about a lot more than acquiring the skills. It brings you into a world filled with fascinating people from all around the world and from all walks of life. This is what I treasure most about music.

I am a classical musician of over 20 years gone Nightlife and Event DJ.

Growing up I had dreams of teaching my love of music and performing.

I attended Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University for Music Education and Music Performance. Though I had wonderful opportunities and had many great performance experiences around the world, I also had a life changing realization. I no longer wanted to pursue my dream of being a music teacher like the many that inspired my love for my entire life.

Fast Forward to post-college and I had nothing. I had no job or any prospects to do anything with my life.

It was the art of DJ’ing that helped me rediscover my love of music. What was once a thing I very rarely dabbled in as a kid (Not many people had access to gear!), became the main tool used to express anything and everything I ever wanted to feel. Music became fun again.

Not only was I able to do something that was fun and enjoyable, but I was able to do it for a living.

I was a DJ almost every night for over 10 years after that.

As a DJ, I didn’t just learn about how to mix and scratch, and sample. I didn’t just learn a lot of useful computer skills. I didn’t just learn about how to brand myself and get booked. I learned about how to make peace with my surroundings and with myself. That is the true art. DJ’ing is you and you are the DJ.

As an instructor at Music 4 Humans, I hope to influence the DJ’s of today, tomorrow, and beyond to not be discouraged by today’s state of the nightlife. There are plenty of mediums to play online, as well as in the private event sector, and I am certain nightlife will come back as awesome as it always has been. I was just so lucky and fortunate to have gotten to do a little bit of everything in my career as a professional. And no matter what your goal is as a DJ, I hope that it helps you learn and grow. Now is a great opportunity to learn this art form, and I look forward to sharing my experiences to help you become the DJ you’ve always wanted to become.

Hi all, thank you for taking the time to visit my profile!

I am a classically trained vocalist and applied linguist, currently residing in the West Michigan area. I approach my instruction with the philosophy that music is a language. In this philosophy, I welcome those who are looking for extreme technique training and vocal pedagogy. Using my classical background, I have also developed effective & multidisciplinary vocal methods for Trans and Non-Binary voice training. I also have a lot of experience working with original artists in preparation for auditions, performances, and studio recordings. If this sounds like you, let’s talk!

My formal training is in Opera and Musical Theater from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee (BM), with additional interests in singing Cabaret and Jazz. Early in my academic training, I was an active member of Opera Grand Rapids and a finalist in the Opera Grand Rapids Vocal Collegiate Competition at age 19. It should be noted though that my passion for music began as a young singer/songwriter, influenced by classic rock, pop, and country music. I saw my first opera after I was being trained classically!

Some career highlights include studying and performing at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, OperaWorks 2016 in Los Angeles, California, and my time spent with The MUSE Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to music instruction for adults with disabilities. It was this experience as a board director, private music & life skills instructor that shifted me towards my current career goals in providing music instruction to an array of different disabilities and severity levels.

My interest in linguistics stems from the belief that music is a language. I specifically sought a Master’s degree in Second Language Acquisition in order to draw parallels from their field of research and apply it to my knowledge of musicality. I am very passionate about bridging the gap between musicality and language, and also the humanities and sciences.

Ultimately, I believe music is for everyone and that it should be about the journey, not the destiny. As a part of your musical journey, it is my goal to provide you with the necessary tools to carry yourself as a well-rounded musician and vocalist.

Hey guys, thanks for visiting my profile. My name is Sebastian Silva, and I’m a musician, DJ, music producer, and sound engineer from Argentina based in Miami.

For as long as I can remember, I always loved music. I started playing piano at 8 years old but switched to guitar and drums in my teenage years. I played in a few punk-rock bands back then and started to perform live and write my own songs.

In the mid-nineties, I broaden my taste in music and got very interested in electronic music. I moved to Miami in 1999 and a year later I started DJing and collecting vinyl records.

I studied Audio Technolgy in 2007-2008 at SAE Miami and around the same time, I started to build a studio in my bedroom and living room. I learned about MIDI and started making some demos using both Audio and MIDI tracks.

Around 2016 I started teaching teenagers and young adults how to DJ and how to produce music using a computer as the main tool. Fast forward to 2021, and I’m still DJing, teaching, and producing all kinds of music. From downtempo and indie-rock to house and techno.
