Milica Jankovic

Milica Jankovic developed a love for music in the family home, where from an early age she was surrounded by instruments such as piano and accordion. Her mother, also a professor of music, was constantly playing the piano and in that way she motivated Milica and her brother to want to play the piano as well. After home education, Milica enrolled in “dr Miloje Milojevic” Music School in Kragujevac, piano department. She completed her primary and secondary music education in the class of professor Sanja Vukosavljevic Milenic. During her schooling, she participated in many national and international competitions and participated in all major school ceremonies.

After graduating from High school and a successful graduation concert, Milica Jankovic enrolled at the Faculty of Music, University of Belgrade and became a student of a successful Serbian pianist, professor Lidija Stankovic. During her studies, she perfected her virtuoso, artistic abilities, developed pedagogical skills, upgraded her knowledge of music history and, most importantly, met herself as a chamber performer.

During her student years, Milica had a significant collaboration, which was accompanied by numerous performances with her brother, cellist Nemanja Stankovic (Grand Stage of the Kolarac Concert Hall / Belgrade, Belgrade City Assembly, Yugoslav Drama Theater stage). Within the project “Educational Concerts”, under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and the Swedish institution for academic development “SiDa”, they held concerts in Serbian cities. In May 2017, the duo renewed collaboration at the Serbian Cultural Center in Paris.

Since 2010, Milica has been actively collaborating with soprano Ljubica Gasparovic Jevtovic. This duo participated in the concert “Russian Night” in the Russian House in Belgrade, and in numerous performances in the Ceremonial Hall of the First Kragujevac Gymnasium. Also, the duo held an all-night concert in April 2012.

She has attended numerous courses with renowned artists: Yuri Kot (Ukraine), Dorian Leljak (Serbia), Irina Alekseychuk (Ukraine) – chamber music, Rita Kinka (Serbia), Boris Kraljevic (Montenegro).
She is the winner of the scholarship of the city of Kragujevac “Dragoslav Srejović”, which is awarded to students with an exceptional average (2006, 2007 and 2008). She is also the winner of the scholarship of the Ministry of Youth and Sports for a thousand of the best students of the Republic of Serbia (2009).

Milica Jankovic is one of the founders of the Music Youth Association-Kragujevac. From February 2016 to December 2017, she was the President and General Manager of the Association and in that period she designed and organized the First Festival of Music Youth – Kragujevac, with an idea of starting the tradition of biennial festivals. Also, she has achieved successful cooperation of this association with other art associations and independent artists in order to organize master classes for pupils and students from Kragujevac and the surrounding area.

In addition to complete piano studies and pedagogical achievements in this field, Milica wanted to gain knowledge about the organization of art events, promotion of works of art and artists themselves, as well as their media presentation. Thus, in 2014, she enrolled in master’s studies at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, University of Belgrade, Department of Culture and Media Management. The dissertation is entitled “The impact of electronic media on children’s music literacy” and through it she managed to create a symbiosis between her many years of experience in pedagogy and what she learned in this direction, and that is the role of electronic media in children’s everyday life.

Her experience in working with children, 15 years long, has contributed to a wide range of pedagogical approaches that have changed in periods as she herself has matured and worked on cognition and personal pedagogical philosophy. As someone who has been in the music world since she was a child, Milica tries to open and show children that world full of imagination, tonal colors and rhythm, and to awaken in them a love for this art, for piano and other instruments, as well as for children literate and to make them loyal lovers of classical music, loyal visitors not only to music, but also to other artistic events.

Milica Jankovic has worked at the Music School “Dr. Miloje Milojevic” in Kragujevac, as a professor of piano and chamber music since 2007. She is currently employed in the Folsom Piano Academy, California.

I started playing piano and singing when I was only 3 years old. The second my fingers touched the keys I knew I had found my passion. My piano teacher, Annie, taught me more than just how to play piano, she taught me how to use music as an outlet. Every lesson with her was sacred to me and I want to give my students this same sacred time.

Growing up, I knew I wanted to become a singer/ songwriter eventually. However, when I started attending the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, I learnt how hard and unfair life as a musician can truly be. I started learning more about the business side of the industry and it is now my passion to educate and empower other artists who may be deceived by certain aspects of the industry. I hope to someday start my own music label where I can offer fair deals to musicians who have not been given the same opportunities as their peers.

When my studies become challenging and I feel like giving up, I think back to my lessons with Annie as a child and how the little girl sitting at the piano would want me to continue on with my mission. I hope to inspire others to love music the same way 🙂

Hi prospective students and music lovers! I am very excited to be able to share my passion for music with you.

The most valuable part of learning to make music has always been my teachers. They always encouraged me to try new instruments, exercises and techniques and inspired me to continue pursuing music even when things seemed daunting. This is the experience I am hoping to impart on you! Beyond simply teaching how to play, I aim to provide the fundamental knowledge of music theory, dive into some critical listening, and ensure that learning your instrument is as fun as it is challenging.

I am a multi-instrumentalist and music producer from Philadelphia, but am now based in Denver, CO! I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Rochester and have been playing clarinet and saxophone for nearly 15 years. I aim to provide a relaxed yet challenging lesson that will push you or your child to be the best they can be. My lessons will have a range of focuses depending on your needs, ranging from classical clarinet to jazz standards!

In addition to clarinet and saxophone, I am also happy to offer lessons on music technology and music production. I have been mixing music for independent artists for over five years and would be happy to teach the necessary skills for recording, mixing and mastering your own music.

I currently work as a freelance composer and audio engineer, and have had the opportunity to score several short films and feature productions in and around the Denver area.

I am happy to provide lessons to students of any age and am excited to be a part of your music-learning experience!

Hafa Adai, I hail from the beautiful island of Guam! Now living in Seattle, Washington. I received my Associate Degree in Music with a focus on Guitar Performance from Musicians Institute Hollywood, California in 2007.

I have had my music placed on multiple tv shows and a movie (the Real World, Road Rules, The Tested etc) and got to play on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with my former band Xolie Morra and the Strange Kind. I’ve been lucky enough to cross paths and share the stage with many musical giants, including Crosby, Stills, and Nash, John Mayer, Don Felder, Brandi Carlile, Russell Ferrante, Travis Carlton, and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. I love playing music, but meeting good people through music and arts is also just the best thing ever and I hope to keep that going 🙂

I’ve been a working musician for the past 20+ years, teaching guitar, bass, and ukulele full time for the past 6 years, and have grown very passionate about sharing and teaching all the joys of music! I hope to be able to spread that joy and positivity to my students and the global music community!
