Improvisation Tips:
- Keep your place: if you hit a note that doesn’t sound right (out of the scale) move half step up or down and you will probably be back in the scale or chord.
- Use repetition. The listener needs to hear those. Otherwise he or she will never be able to remember anything that you played.
- Always check your favorite guitar players and their solos. You have got to listen to get ideas. Everybody imitates everybody.
- Record yourself and go over the parts that you like and dislike.
