About Samara
I started playing piano and singing when I was only 3 years old. The second my fingers touched the keys I knew I had found my passion. My piano teacher, Annie, taught me more than just how to play piano, she taught me how to use music as an outlet. Every lesson with her was sacred to me and I want to give my students this same sacred time. Growing up, I knew I wanted to become a singer/ songwriter eventually. However, when I started attending the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music, I learnt how hard and unfair life as a musician can truly be. I started learning more about the business side of the industry and it is now my passion to educate and empower other artists who may be deceived by certain aspects of the industry. I hope to someday start my own music label where I can offer fair deals to musicians who have not been given the same opportunities as their peers. When my studies become challenging and I feel like giving up, I think back to my lessons with Annie as a child and how the little girl sitting at the piano would want me to continue on with my mission. I hope to inspire others to love music the same way 🙂
