Bio
I am originally from Chicago, Illinois, but I currently live in Boston, MA. I was lucky to grow up with parents that were very supportive of my musical interest. At the age of 4, they gave me a violin as my first instrument, where I developed a passion for playing music.
At the age of 11, I started the trumpet in continuation of the violin. It was my first exposure to music besides orchestral and chamber music, such as jazz and band. Over time, the trumpet was an instrument that I loved even more than violin, and I became serious about music as a profession. The trumpet became the closest form of self expression for me, and I knew its where I wanted to begin my career as a performer, composer, and educator.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music/University of Rochester in Jazz Studies and Contemporary Media in May 2020. In December 2021, I graduated with a Master of Music from Berklee Global Jazz Institute/Berklee College of Music in Contemporary Performance (Global Jazz).
During this time in school, I had the opportunity to perform with a variety of ensembles each for several years: Jazz Big Band, Jazz Trio, Jazz Combo (Quartet-Octet), Symphonic Orchestra, Wind Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Brass Quintet, Punk Band, EDM Groups, DJ’s, Wedding Bands, Rap/Hip Hop house band, Commercial Bands, Salsa Bands, etc.
